Candidate Information and Instructions

General Information – Candidates are able to circulate nomination petitions January 7 through January 27, 2020.

During the April 7, 2020 regular election, Dillon voters will be electing three (3) Council members, each serving four-year terms. 

The Town Clerk’s office operates under the provisions of the Dillon Town Charter and the Colorado Municipal Election Code.

Qualifications for Office

All candidates, when nominated:

  1. must be at least eighteen years of age
  2. must be a resident of Dillon for twelve consecutive months preceding the date of the election
  3. must be a registered voter
  4. have not been convicted of embezzlement, bribery, perjury, solicitation of bribery, or subornation of perjury

Election Precinct and Petitions

There is only one election precinct for all regular and special elections of the Town. In order to be valid, a petition must contain a minimum of twenty-five (25) signatures from registered voters residing in Dillon.  This excludes unincorporated areas of Dillon Valley, Summerwood, Summit Cove and Keystone.  No registered voter shall sign more than the number of petitions for available offices (three) to be filled.

Town Council Meetings & Agendas

Town Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Dillon Town Hall, 275 Lake Dillon Drive.  Town Council work sessions are held prior to the council meetings, typically beginning at 4:30 p.m. Additional meetings or appointments to boards will be scheduled outside the regular Town Council Meetings.
