Dillon Amphitheater Bartender

Job Overview: Provide customer service and beverage and light food sales to Dillon Amphitheater patrons.

Hours: This is a summer seasonal, part-time position with hours varying between 20 to 30 hours per week, beginning late May through early October. Must be available to work flexible shifts and days, including late nights and weekends. Bartenders must be able to work a minimum of 20 concerts and at least one special event (recreation and/or movie night).

Reports To: Bar Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and fulfill beverage, food and merchandise orders.
  • Adhere to departmental safety rules, operating procedures, town policies, and regulations for employees and the general public.
  • Ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, event attendees, coworkers and partners at all times. This includes having professional interactions with customers, providing accurate information and having general knowledge of the Dillon Amphitheater and Town of Dillon events and happenings.
  • Process cash and credit card transactions via point-of-sale system.
  • Restock and redistribute products throughout the event.
  • Responsible for the setup, breakdown and maintenance of the concessions areas, which may include, but is not limited to, staging and set up/teardown of tents, stanchions, signage, points of sale, product and coolers, and all related accessories and supplies. Assist with other venue setup and teardown needs as assigned.
  • Responsible for accurate cash management and ensure necessary paperwork is complete.
  • Maintain cleanliness of venue before, during and after an event. Ensure all work areas and facilities are clean and safe for participants, guests and staff. This includes picking up, sorting, and moving trash and recycling; cleaning the concessions areas before and after events, and cleaning up messes.
  • Carry out all cleaning and hygiene protocols. Ensure compliance with fire, health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
  • Work shifts required to meet the needs of the events schedule. This includes late nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Responsible for responding to, communicating, and documenting incidents and emergency situations, including, but not limited to: First Aid, severe weather, and missing child events.
  • Provide support to all facets of the events and recreation operations as assigned by supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to sun, heat, cold, dust, precipitation, fuel, grease, trash and other conditions and chemicals commonly found in an events and recreation environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual regularly works in outside-weather conditions. The individual frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The individual is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may experience the risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to very loud. Must be able to work in a loud noise environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear a radio earpiece during shifts. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate a computer, draft line, point of sale, various pieces of equipment, tools, and vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The individual frequently is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The individual is also required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.

The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, preferably unassisted, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Equipment Used: Motorized vehicles and equipment, common hand and power tools, mobile radio, phone, computer, calculator, point of sale and ticketing systems, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams software, timekeeping and scheduling software, and printer/copy/fax machine.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Experience in a bar or beverage service operation.
  • Knowledge of modern POS systems.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • A familiarity with Square or other accounting-based software.
  • TIPS certified or the ability to be TIPS certified before June 1, 2026.
  • Self-motivated, innovative team player, who can also work well individually.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and timely manner, both verbally and in writing, when dealing with Town of Dillon employees, citizens, guests, customers, participants and vendors.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, vendors, and other departments and agencies.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification are preferred. Training provided.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language proficiently.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to work days, nights, weekends, late hours and holidays.
  • Submission to a background check.
